Industrial 2-Port Gigabit PoE+ Media Converter with 2 SFP Ports and 1+1 Fiber Redundancy
The UF-IS6212GP is an unmanaged industrial Gigabit PoE+ media converter with two 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE+ ports and two 100/1000BASE-X SFP fiber ports. It supports 1+1 fiber link redundancy, allowing automatic switching between the primary and backup fiber ports when the active fiber link fails. The converter also provides PoE watchdog, 250m long-distance transmission mode, redundant 44–57VDC power input, and -40°C to +80°C operation for industrial Ethernet and critical network applications.
The UF-IS6212GP is a compact unmanaged industrial Gigabit PoE+ media converter that combines two 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE+ copper ports with two 100/1000BASE-X SFP fiber ports. It is designed to extend Ethernet and PoE connectivity over fiber while providing 1+1 fiber link redundancy for critical network connections.
The two SFP ports can be configured as a redundant fiber pair through the DIP switch. When the active fiber link fails, the converter can automatically switch to the backup fiber link and recover the connection when the primary link becomes available again.
The UF-IS6212GP also supports PoE watchdog, 250m long-distance transmission mode, redundant 44–57VDC power input, 4KV surge protection, and -40°C to +80°C industrial operation. Its fanless IP40 aluminum housing and DIN-Rail installation make it suitable for industrial Ethernet, transportation, IP surveillance, factory automation, and other critical network environments.
A single fiber uplink creates a potential single point of failure. The UF-IS6212GP provides two SFP fiber ports that can be configured as a 1+1 redundant fiber link. If the active fiber path fails, the converter can automatically switch to the backup fiber port.
The UF-IS6212GP combines copper PoE+ ports with SFP fiber interfaces. It can receive fiber-based Ethernet data and provide both network connectivity and PoE power to compatible devices through its RJ45 ports.
The built-in PoE Watchdog monitors connected PoE devices. When a connected device becomes unresponsive, the watchdog function can automatically restart the PoE connection to help restore the device.
The dedicated 250m long-distance mode extends Ethernet and PoE connectivity beyond the standard 100m copper Ethernet distance for supported deployments.
The UF-IS6212GP uses a fanless IP40 industrial housing and supports -40°C to +80°C operation, with surge, reverse-polarity and over-voltage protection for industrial and outdoor-adjacent network environments.
The converter uses a compact 30 × 85 × 85mm housing and DIN-Rail mounting, making it suitable for control cabinets, electrical boxes, machine equipment and distributed industrial network nodes.
The UF-IS6212GP uses two SFP fiber ports to provide a primary and backup optical path.
Primary Fiber Link → SFP Port 1
Backup Fiber Link → SFP Port 2
When fiber redundancy mode is enabled through the DIP switch:
SFP Port 1 operates as the primary fiber link.
SFP Port 2 provides the backup fiber path.
The converter monitors the active optical link.
If the primary fiber link fails, traffic is automatically switched to the backup fiber port.
When the primary link recovers, the system can automatically recover the original fiber path.
This 1+1 fiber protection architecture helps maintain network connectivity for critical Ethernet and PoE applications where fiber-link availability is important.
The UF-IS6212GP includes a built-in PoE Watchdog function for monitoring connected PoE devices.
When a connected PoE device becomes unresponsive, the watchdog function can automatically detect the problem and restart the PoE connection. This helps reduce the need for manual intervention at remote locations.
PoE Watchdog is particularly useful for remotely deployed devices such as:
IP cameras
Wireless access points
PoE communication devices
Remote monitoring equipment
Industrial PoE terminals
The PoE Watchdog function can be enabled or configured through the DIP switch.
The UF-IS6212GP provides a dedicated 250m long-distance transmission mode for supported Ethernet and PoE connections.
When enabled through the DIP switch, the long-distance mode allows compatible copper Ethernet/PoE connections to reach up to 250 meters, extending beyond the conventional 100-meter Ethernet cabling distance.
This function is useful for distributed IP surveillance, factory equipment, transportation infrastructure and other installations where PoE devices are located farther from the network access point.
The 250m mode is configured through the DIP switch and should be used with compatible network devices and cabling.
