Shenzhen UTP Fiber Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “UF”)’sSimplex Fiber Pigtails deliver high performance and easy to manage splices throughout a fiber network, with minimal setup time. Simplex fiber pigtails feature a single fiber strand with core/cladding diameters of 62.5/125µm, 50/125µm, and 9/125µm for OM1, OM2/OM3/OM4, or OS2 fiber modes. Each premium fiber pigtail features a pre-terminated LC, LC/APC, SC, SC/APC, ST, or FC/APC connectors. Available lengths include 1, 2, and 3 meters.
Optical fiber pigtails are recommended or sometimes required when there is a need to make a transition from thin buffered fibers (250-900 µm), typical for distribution cables and not suitable for direct optical fiber connector termination, to cross-connection or equipment connection points. Pigtails mechanically or fusion connected to the distribution cable fibers simplify cabling system installation and servicing significantly.
